A photo of the boarded-up front entrance of an old brick school building labeled “Saint Mary’s School.” The door is covered with plywood, and the windows are cracked or obscured by blinds. A fallout shelter sign is mounted on the wall near the entrance. Overgrown bushes frame the doorway, adding to the abandoned atmosphere.

There’s a certain stillness in places like this—buildings left behind but not quite gone.

This was the front of Saint Mary’s School. Boarded windows, a fallout shelter sign, and years of wear layered into every surface.

I’m still exploring how to edit photos like this without dulling the atmosphere. Feedback welcome—especially on color balance, shadows, and clarity.

Shot on Canon EOS R10.
